Learning how to embrace life using mindfullness meditation has added value to my life and to the lives of many others. If you are not familiar with this practice, or if you are like me and run hot and cold in your relationship to the dicipline necessary to cultivate a strong meditation practice, the following video just may inspire you.
My most recent find of value comes through Shinzen Young, a Vipassana (Insight) meditation teacher whose books include Beginners Guide To Meditation, Emotional Healing Through Mindfullness Meditation and Break Through Pain. The following interview with Shinzen Young sheds good light on what is involved in mastering the 3 fold attention and skill set of mindfullness.
For more than 3 decades I have been a student of Insight Meditation. I have done both long and short retreats in silence. I’ve both married myself to the practice of formal meditaiton and divorced myself from it, on numerous occaisions. I find when I sit regularly my life expands in ways that add brilliance and joy to an otherwise mundane existance. My well-being improves, my stress level decreases and the cat and mouse game of fear and worry subsides.
The sence of balance I received from connecting to the energy of equinimity through the information on the video, led me back to my cushion. I love the way I am able to generate a whole different way of being when I practice midnfullness meditation regularly. Every aspect of life expands as a strong relationship with deep presence is consciously woven into the fabric of our lives.
Do you have a daily practice that involves centering and balance? Does it help you to be more aware in daily living? Can you offer insight on how your practice brings you into alignment with the vibration of health and wealth? Please leave a comment.
Wishing you the joy of life by design,
Alison
